Located in North Yorkshire, there is lots to see and do around around Castleton. Whether it's exploring the village and the North York Moors on foot, or travelling slightly further afield by car or public transport.

There are multiple seasides within the vicinity, with the closest being the charming seaside town of Whitby (just thirty minutes by car, also accessible by train from Castleton Moor train station).
Saltburn-by-the-Sea, Robin Hood's Bay, Scarborough and Filey are also nearby seasides - all reachable within two hours, by car.
For a family adventure, Castle Howard is great for all ages; Take a wander through the beautiful walled-gardens, or venture through the ages with a tour of the house. There is a play area for children, as well as a lake which often has boat trips throughout the school holidays.
The market town of Helmsley is a short forty minute drive, and the historic city of York is just over an hour away; York has a wide range of activities, from visiting the iconic York Minster and taking a walk along the city walls, to Jorvik Viking Centre and York Castle Museum.
